About IQHA Racing

IQHA RACING DIVISON AWARD RULES

  1. Owner must be an IQHA Racing Division Member by June 1st of the current year.
  2. Horse must win at least once in Idaho in the year (except Outstanding Idaho Bred Award)
  3. Horse to have won R.O.M. to be considered. In case of a tie, horse with the most wins and R.O.M.s will be given preference.
  4. Official races run equals 1 point added
  5. Official AQHA and R.O.M. points added
  6. Money earned equals 2 points per $1000.00 earned.
  7. Each first place equals 4 points.
  8. Each second place equals 2 points.
  9. Each third places equal 1 point.
  10. Official speed index points: Track record equal 10 points, 100 SI and over equals 6 points each race, 90-99 equals 5 points each race, 80-89 equals 2 points each race.
  11. Twenty additional points will be given for stakes wins, ten additional points for stakes place and six additional points for stakes show.
  12. Awards will be made based on information from AQHA official records and charts.
  13. First, second, third place awards will be presented in most categories.
  14. Awards will be given in the following categories and to Idaho Bred Horses Only.
  • 2 yr Old Fillies
  • 2 yr Old Gelding/Stallion
  • 3 yr Old Mares
  • 3 yr Old Gelding/Stallion
  • Aged Mares
  • Aged Gelding/Stallion
  • Horse of the Year
  • Outstanding Idaho Bred
  • Top Breeder
  • Top Owner
  • Top Trainer
  • Top Jockey

TRAINER/JOCKEY OF THE YEAR

  1. Must race primarily in Idaho
  2. Must be a member of the IQHA Racing Division by June 1st of the current year
  3. Only quarter horse wins in Idaho will be counted
  4. One point given for every Idaho win

OUTSTANDING IDAHO BRED

  1. Owner or owners must be members of the IQHA Racing Division by June 1st of the current year.
  2. Horse does not have to start in Idaho to be eligible.
  3. The winner of this award shall be determined by the Board of Directors of the IQHA Racing Division using rules #3 thru #12 as guidelines.

HORSE OF THE YEAR

  1. Owner or owners must be members of the IQHA Racing Division by June 1st of the current year.
  2. Horse must win at least 1 in Idaho to be eligible.
  3. The winner of this award shall be determined by the Board of Directors of the IQHA Racing Division using rules #3 thru #12 as guidelines.

ALL COMPLAINTS AND/OR COMMENTS MUST BE DIRECTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RACING DIVISION

DECISIONS MADE BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SHALL BE FINAL
